I am back! And with a repurpose project.

It has been a long while since I have been on here. But I have very good excuses!

My family and I have decided to follow our dream and sell the Log house that my Handsome Man and his brother built in Ohio, along with most of our belongings and move to Mississippi!

Yeah, crazy!

We fell in love with Mississippi when we first visited. And, we longed to live a more debt-free "sustainable" lifestyle. Now don't get me wrong. We still have debt. But we no longer have a huge mortgage to hover over our heads for the next 25 years. We are slowly working towards lowering our debt. It will take some time. And why the quotes? Well, we are not the gung ho type. I still like to go to the store and buy milk. But I like to garden and hunt. I also like freezing and canning the things we harvest.

We have been in Mississippi for little over a year now. My Handsome Man has built us a house. (actually finishing one that was started) The house is not quite done yet. We still want to add on to it. But that takes money. I have been working full time and homeschooling the children. Well, kinda. I am lucky. My daughter is very self sufficient and does well with 4th grade. My son, his High School work is online. So I figured, I can try working at my blog again.

So here we go!

For those of you that have avid deer hunters in the family you can probably relate. Every serious deer hunter has hunting clothes. Our house is not that big and does not have a lot of closet space. I feel like I have camouflage up to my eyeballs. We were storing it in our camper but I recently decided I want to do a make over on the camper (a post for another day).

Another problem, hunting clothes are heavy. Those cheap plastic hangers you get from the nearby chain store just don't do the job. I am too cheap to buy the heavy duty hangers. They cost way too much.

I also have another problem, my 9yr old likes to yank her clothes off the hangers. As you can imagine, she breaks a lot of hangers. Erks me so much.

SO... I thought I would try something.

I decided to repurpose the broken hangers along with some of those cheap plastic hangers.

Things I used:
Broken Plastic Hangers
Plastic hanger in good condition
Gorilla Tape.

I bought an 18pk of plastic hangers for $1.89 plus tax.
Then I took a broken hanger and paired it with another.
Using the gorilla tape I taped them together.

I know it is not the prettiest thing, but it will serve the purpose. I guess I could use that fancy decorative duct tape, But again, I am CHEAP!

Slow Cooker Taco Chili

My church had a Chili Cook Off last night to kick off this year’s family night. It was a runner up for most popular vote. I would have won if Zoey wouldn’t have mysteriously come up with 3 extra votes when it came to announce the winner. Ha Ha! All the chili was very yummy last night and I had to taste all 8 entries. Needless to say, I was soooo uncomfortable afterwards. It was fun! All my co-workers appreciated it too as I took what was left over to feed them the next day. I put together all the ingredients the night before and put it in the crock pot over night. In the morning before leaving to work I took it out of the fridge and put the crock pot on low for the day. Super easy and it is nice to get home from work to already have supper done. Slow Cooker Taco Chili Ingredients 1 pound ground beef (or ground venison) 1 pound bulk pork sausage 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn with red and green bell peppers ...

Use a rolling pin to crush stuffing mix in the bag. 2. Mix stuffing mix with egg and milk. 3. Add stuffing mix to burger and mix well. 4. Make small patties. About 14. Place in greased or sprayed baking dish. 5. Bake patties for 14 minutes, turn and bake for another 14 minutes. 6. Mix 3 cups of water with dry gravy mix and pour over patties. 7. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes and a veggie.

Spinach Lasagna Rolls

I originally found this recipe here on skinnytaste.com. She gets all the credit. I changed it a bit because the Handsome Man does not like ricotta. Pooh. I When its time to cook this I use a meaty spaghetti sauce.  Spinach Lasagna Rolls Ingredients:   18 lasagna noodles, cooked Approx. 2 cups of freshly chopped spinach (or 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and completely drained)   2  - 8oz packages of Neufchâtel (or cream cheese) softened   ½ cup cottage cheese 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese   2 egg salt and fresh pepper   ½  cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Combine spinach, Neufchâtel, cottage cheese,  Parmesan , egg, salt and pepper, and mozzarella in a large bowl. If the mixture seems soupy then add more  Parmesan . Make sure the lasagna noodles are dry. Place a piece of wax paper on the counter and lay out the noodles. Spread cheese mixture evenly over noodles. Carefully roll noodles up and place edge side dow...
